Obviously I've not been feed the blog enough lately, this is my 3rd try to post.
One Wilde Night has been out since 3/1 and the first reader review I've seen can be found here.
I talked about what all this cold weather has taught me here.
There is an interview with me up here.
What do you like to do when it's cold outside?
Today I'm blogging over at the Lyrical Press Blog - talking about the weather - sort of

BLURB: (excerpt below)
It's Tara Wilde's birthday, and all she wants is a one-night man. Tucker Carson is just the ticket. But they have more in common than they realize, starting with a shared fetish for hot cars. When Tucker returns home, he can't forget the woman who gave him a false name and toyed with his heart.
When chance brings Tucker back to Tara's home town she thinks he's there for a temporary visit, and makes up for lost time. But when he steals her car and gets it into a wreck, she finds out she cares more about the man who lied to her than her beloved vehicle.
With lies and the ghosts of her past in the way, will Tara keep her heart safe, or be driven on the road to passion?

Excerpts:
Never in his thirty-two years had he had a one-night stand. But if this night played out the way his body wanted, that’s exactly what he’d be having. Monday morning he would be back in Boston with finals to prepare and a decision to make. Tonight, he wanted to live a little. As if his hand had a mind of its own, his knuckles gently brushed across her sculpted cheekbone. Her chestnut hair was within reach, and overly tempting. He touched the silken strands, tucking it behind her ear, giving him a better view of her brilliant eyes. “Do you think it’s late enough to slip out of here? I mean, the cake was cut. Duty over?” The smile she gave was like nothing he’d seen before, and his body shook in response. “Seems like a good time to me,” she said, turning her cheek toward his hovering hand.

Wheeee! I just posted about turning in the pre-edits for this one, so let me say when the cover landed in my in-box I was super excited. As I said in the previous post - this story has a special meaning to me! Now I can't wait for September!
I don't have an offical blurb or anything yet - but this taste has been "out" since the last Brava novella contest, so I figured I'd re-post part of it here.
When his phone rang at three a.m. the last thing he’d expected to hear was Misty’s sultry voice, followed by the fact she was calling from county jail.
Tanner stepped away from the counter as the sheriff dumped the plastic bag. A watch, cell phone and small black satchel landed with a thud. Misty collected the items one by one. She looked like a vamped up cat burglar. Her silky dark hair was pulled into a low ponytail, her black leggings and turtleneck rumpled.
Outside sunshine beamed thru treetops. He held the car door open, "About last night…"
"Look, I don’t want to talk about it." Misty pulled the door shut.
The car purred to life but the heater couldn’t defrost the cold shoulder she gave him. He wanted answers.
"Misty, you have to talk about it, especially if you’re not planning on telling your brother."
She glared at him, "I am not telling Jake."
"Tell me what happened or I’ll tell Jake his little sister called me in the middle of the night to bail her ass out of jail."
"That’d go over great." She turned away.
"I thought you and Josh broke up a long time ago?"
"We did."
"Care to tell me why you were arrested for breaking into his apartment?"
"I knew he was out of town. He had something of mine. How was I supposed to know he changed the alarm code?" She shrugged.
"What was so important you’d risk getting arrested?"
"Something he took and refused to return."
"What was so damned important?"
"My locket…" she reached for the door handle.
Tanner grabbed her arm and saw tears in her eyes. "The locket…?"
"Yes, the insignificant locket you gave me for my twenty-first birthday."
Misty jerked her arm out of his grip then made an ordeal of buckling her seatbelt. She leaned her head back and closed her eyes.
"Can we just leave?"
As the miles rolled by Misty’s head gently rocked against the headrest.
He thought about what she’d said. She still had the locket or at least Josh the loser did. He’d seen her wear it at McNeil family gatherings but never thought it meant anything to her.
It had been a peace offering of sorts, not that he’d ever told her. He felt as if he owed her something after that insanely hot night they’d spent together. He wanted to talk to her but when she showed up at her birthday party with a lanky co-ed wrapped around her, he changed his mind about talking._Ancient history_.
He parked in front of her apartment an hour later. She was home and tomorrow he’d see what he could do about the mess she’d landed in.
"Misty, wake up." Nothing. She didn’t budge.
"Misty."
Tanner walked around the car and opened her door. Her legs fell causing her to stir.
"Misty, you’re home." She lifted her head and when her deep blue eyes met his a longing jolted through him. Whoa. Where did that come from?
"Tanner?" She breathed. "Where are we?"
"You’re home, my little jail bird."
She groaned and pushed herself upright and out the car. "Look, I…" she hesitated.
"I know. Don’t tell Jake. Got it."
"I uh, yeah don’t tell Jake." She started up the steps.
"You know I’d do anything I can for you?"
"Of course." She said fumbling in the black sack.
"I’ll see about the charges, tomorrow."
"Don’t bother, I didn’t even accomplish what I went there for."
"So what?" he barked, "You planning another break-in?"
Ridiculous. His pants were getting entirely too tight watching Misty fiddle in the damned sack. Her rumpled cat burglar look set him on fire. He just needed to put some fear in her and get the hell away. Not enough sleep was giving him insane ideas.
"Of course not." She rolled her eyes heavenward and damned if even that didn’t turn him on.
"Just checking, you know those are serious charges?"
"Yes. I know my brother’s a cop." She quirked a smile.
"I’d better get out of here, you have your keys?"
She nodded unlocking the door. He started around the car.
"Tanner."
He turned. Not a good idea. She looked like something from his fantasies. He needed a date. Hell he needed a life. Lusting after Misty McNeil was not an option.
"Yeah?"
"Thanks."
"Not a problem sweetheart. You know I’ve always thought of you as a kid sister."
"Yeah, I know." She said and slammed the door.
This week, I finished pre-edits and turned in ABOUT LAST NIGHT! I'm excited to get this book into the editing stage, and I'll be happy to see its release. It's the manuscript that propelled me back to writing. I entered the last BRAVA novella contest on a whim, after being on a writing hiatus for over four years. When I resurfaced in the writing world there was a notice about the pending contest. I'd started a new project and figured it couldn't hurt to enter...mostly because I had such great respect for Kate Duffy. Needless to say - being a finalist in the contest and receiving a phone call from The Kate was like a dream come true. Our conversation was everything I'd heard about her, no holds barred and all. She said,"You've got a great voice.”(which is something I still swoon over) She also told me she hated my heroine's name, because it didn't do her justice (all this after reading 750 words ;-) Unfortunately, I never had the opportunity to work with Kate, but I did meet her (during the infamous Gustave evacuation) and she gave me guidance I'll always treasure. And Misty McNeil kept her name...mostly because it was that or change it to Kate.
I also finished edits on a manuscript I really love...well truth be told, I love the whole series idea, and characters. Plus I bit the bullet and submitted it.
We had a snow day last Friday - it's hard to believe we've had snow two winters in a row in south Louisiana, but we have. With the snow day - and the Mardi Gras school holidays - my kids have been home LOTS! The oldest - 10 days in a row - the little one 9 days! And...I've pretty much been home the entire time. The one day the little one went to preschool was the day my oldest turned into a teenager! We spent that day on the road, she had several gift cards left over from Christmas and they were burning holes in her pockets - add in a little birthday cash and we shopped most of the day. I'm ready to get back to normal next week.
On the Valentine contest front - I've emailed all the winners their books, hope y'all enjoy!
Over the weekend I'll be blogging http://lyricalpress.blogspot.com/ so stop by if you get a chance.

Set in the rich nightlife and colorful days of New Orleans' French Quarter, this story is full of interesting people and places. The chemistry between Laurel and Lee is sizzling hot right from the beginning.

#3 Shawna C
Shawna C – if you will email me your mailing information at rhondaleah @ cox.net (without the spaces) I’ll get your book out to you as soon as possible.
Books I've recently read and love - Keepers!
Shannon Stacey has a wonderful voice and the action in her Devlin Group series is wonderful. While I admit to having mad love for 72 Hours the first book in this series - No Surrender is a close second! Also Shannon recently sold Just Joe to Carina Press - Harlequin's new all digital line! I can't wait for this one - as it sounds like a great, funny read - and I love Shan's wicked humor!

I had the great pleasure of meeting Maya Banks at the HeartLA Readers Luncheon recently, where I picked up Sweet Seduction a few days before the official release - Ms. Banks out did herself, again.

I pre-ordered this book and read it as soon as it was delivered! I love it. I love Jaci's Wild Riders series and her writing in general, you can't go wrong. I think Spence is my favoriate Jaci hero to date!
